Self-Publishing Workshop:
Working on a novel during National Novel Writing Month? Curious about self-publishing? Learn about the process of self-publishing in this workshop and decide if it’s for you. This will be a hands-on functional approach to teaching you some basics in self-publishing by guiding you through part of the process. Students should bring their own laptops and will be able to get feedback on how to set up a book for publication on at least one platform, such as Kindle Direct Publishing. It is recommended that students have a basic knowledge of navigating websites.

Shana Thornton is the author of three novels, Ripe for Pickin’ (Forthcoming 2021), Poke Sallet Queen & the Family Medicine Wheel (2015) and Multiple Exposure (2012), and the young adult book, The Adventures to Pawnassus (2019). She is co-author of the nonfiction creativity book, Seasons of Balance: On Creativity & Mindfulness (2016). She created the BreatheYourOMBalance® series of yoga books and brand. She owns a small publishing company, Thorncraft Publishing, and publishes the work of six individual authors, as well as the Breathe yoga book series.
Shana Thornton has a Master’s in English from Austin Peay State University and a 200-hr. Therapeutic Yoga Teacher registration from Guiding Wellness Institute.
