Rock Band Camp (July 19 -July 23)

Ages: 10-17yrs
Cost: $150
Monday-Friday, July 19 - July 23
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: APSU Music/Mass Communication Bldg - Rooms TBA
Instructor: Tyler Spuzzillo

This week-long summer camp gives students the experience of being in a rock band ensemble. Each student will rehearse and perform in a rock band, in addition to learning related topics such as equipment handling, technique, and overall musicianship. Students will learn to operate, organize, and create a functioning rock band in masterclasses, music workshops, and rehearsals, with the goal of a short concert for friends and family on the last day of the camp

Any and all instrumentalists/vocalists are welcome, however all students must have some playing ability. This camp is not for true beginners. Each band will have 3-6 members. Guitar and bass players will need to bring their own instruments, and vocalists will most likely need their own mics (for sanitary purposes).

When registering, questions will be asked in order to gather information to place the student in the best band for them. Also, students will be emailed a short survey about their music tastes/interests so that they are assigned to a band that meets their needs.

Instructor Tyler Spuzzillo is a current graduate student at Austin Peay State University in Music Education. Mr. Spuzzillo will also have two assistants with musical backgrounds.
