This class is designed for students who have little to no prior digital photography experience.
Using a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on exercises, this course will explore the basic photographic techniques and artistic concerns involved in capturing great photographs. These include better understanding of camera settings and handling, composition, effective use of light, understanding and applying exposure settings (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) to camera, file management, and introduction to basic use of photo editing. Instructor and peer-reviewed critiques provide feedback weekly.

Students entering the course must have a digital camera with lens, SD Card, and are responsible for digital storage media. Instructor encourages students to have access to Adobe Photoshop for their laptop or computer.
