Ages 14 and older. This is a class for developing your writing and sharing it with a group of listeners. We will discuss all types of writing, from poetry to fiction novels, from creative nonfiction essays to flash fiction. Writers of all styles are welcome. We will put words onto paper with purpose, by going through some writing basics. Writing prompts are provided. Whether you want to start from scratch, you already have the bones of a story, or you’ve developed a complete manuscript that needs readers and polishing work, bring your work and creative ideas to this class. Be prepared for critical feedback. Participants should have mastery and knowledge of grammar and structure. This is not a class designed to focus on grammar. This class is designed for creative writing. Writers of children's chapter books would benefit from this class as well. If you have a writing sample, bring an excerpt to the first class. You are not required to have anything written already. Bring pencil, paper, and/or a computer or some other device for writing and join us for some summer writing.
